The provision of basic health facilities to the public is one of the paramount responsibilities of a serving government. Unfortunately, effective measures were not taken in the past to strengthen the public health sector. However, The Government of Punjab has devised a comprehensive set of policy measures in addition to a record increase in the health budget in an attempt to leave no stone unturned to improve service delivery to an unprecedented extent.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid

i. Yasmin Rashid is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab since August 2018. In 1978, she did her MBBS from the Fatima Jinnah Medical University in Lahore. In 1984, she moved to the United Kingdom and enrolled in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists from where received a MRCOG degree in 1989 and a FRCOG degree in 1999. She served as the President the Pakistan Medical Association from 1998 to 2000.
